Andrew Tate released from jail into house arrest

Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan, controversial social media influencers, have been released from custody and placed under house arrest by a Romanian court. The ruling replaces their current period of custody, which was due to end on April 29. Two associates, Georgiana Naghel and Luana Radu, have also been released. All four have been ordered to stay in their residences, unless they have judicial permission to leave. The brothers have been detained since December and are being investigated for allegations of rape, people trafficking, and forming an organized crime group, which they deny. Leaked court documents include testimony from alleged victims who claim they were forced to earn €10,000 a month on social media platforms under threat of physical violence. Tate gained notoriety online, particularly among young men, by promoting what he presented as a hyper-masculine, ultra-luxurious lifestyle, despite social media bans.
